Go For Gold 2022:

The Go For Gold Sale takes great pride in offering its customers a superior hand-picked selection of top class event horses selected on potential, pedigree, performance and conformation.

Our selection process is a very rigorous undertaking and not one taken lightly by our internationally experienced selection panel who spend days assessing and scrutinising all the horses put forward before making the final line up.

With several hundred applications, it is a very considered process.

Each applicant is inspected and put through their paces to ensure they make the grade. We firmly believe this is why the Go For Gold Sale boasts such an unrivalled list of graduates and their list of achievements is an impressive one.

Many of our graduates have also excelled in the highest levels of showjumping and showing which is testament to the fastidious selection process.

In an age where remote bidding has become popular and ever more necessary due to Covid-19 restrictions on travel, we believe in bringing you as much information as possible with our unparalleled performance footage, conformation videos, veterinary reports, radiographs and live coverage of the performance and auction itself.

For the 2022 Go For Gold Sale we try to make it as easy as possible for those who are unable to attend the sale and so, we are offering an even broader view of all lots to give you a comprehensive perspective of all the lots on offer.

This years performance takes place yet again at the Barnadown Showgrounds in Gorey Co. Wexford and the auction takes place at the nearby Ambersprings Hotel.

The auction takes place without the gala dinner option as a result of covid restrictions, but we hope to bring you the same experience and excitement as in previous years. For those who cannot attend you can follow the livestream of performance and the auction with the addition of live online bidding.

Veterinary certificates will be available to view in the image gallery prior to the sale and radiographs can be forwarded directly to your veterinary surgeon in advance of the sale also.

Hugh Suffern will also be in attendance at Barnadown for those who are travelling to sale this year.

Appointments can be made to view or trial any lot prior to sale.

” The horses we have bought are proving very exciting and a couple of them exceptional. I would commend the sale to anyone seeking the best.”

The success of this sale hinges on the quality and potential of horses chosen. Our promise last year was to ensure a catalogue of finely selected individuals with an international clientele to match. This was fulfilled with seven horses topping the twenty five thousand mark. There is enhanced interest from both vendors and buyers in this year’s Goresbridge Go for Gold sale. The high profile and integrity of the Goresbridge Sales team has been very well received and acknowledged as the premier source of event champions.

The cream of Irish three,  four, five & six year old eventers will be selected on Pedigree, Performance and Potential.

There will be a number of selection days nationwide where we will ask the horses to show their paces over a derby style track to include banks ditches and water. The chosen venues offer a perfect viewing ground as well as a nationwide catchment.
